What is an American WeatherStar Certified Installer?

We at American WeatherStar feel it is important that you, as a consumer considering one of our systems for your roof, understand what an American WeatherStar Certified Installer is:

An American WeatherStar Certified Installer is an independent roofing contractor who, although certified by us, should in no way be construed as a direct representative or agent of American WeatherStar.

To ensure that the very best contractors are installing our systems for facility owners and managers, we offer installation certification for our contractor base. This certification process includes a credit application, trade references, job references, and requires documents that show the independent contractor is licensed and insured.

In order for a building owner to receive any one of our warranties, a job must be installed by one of our Certified Installers, however, not every job can be covered by one of our warranty programs. There is an approval process the contractor must go through with each installation in order for American WeatherStar to issue any of our warranties and at times the variables involved with a particular installation can negate our ability to issue a warranty.

We suggest you verify documentation that your contractor’s certification is current at the time of the project and ask him for a sample of the warranty he is offering on the system, before the job begins.

We do our very best to make sure we work with great contractors and more importantly, great people. We also firmly believe it is critical that you as a consumer investigate any roofing contractor you are considering to install any manufacturer's roofing system, even ours, before the job begins.

Below is a list of recommendations to consider before hiring a roofing contractor as provided by the National Roofing Contractors Association:

A PROFESSIONAL ROOFING CONTRACTOR will have and provide:

A Permanent Place of Business - permanent address, telephone numbers, tax identification number and where appropriate, a business license.
Financial Stability - you should be satisfied that the contractor will be there when you need him.
Proof of Insurance - ask to see the type he carries and make sure it includes worker’s compensation coverage.
References - check with previous customers for complete satisfaction of workmanship and materials used.
Warranties - ones that cover both materials and workmanship.
A List of Completed Projects - name of project, owner, architect, contract amount and date of completion.
